This website offers an overview of my PhD project which investigates the productivity of the earliest embryophytes (land plants), that are thought to have first colonised the terrestrial biome during the Ordovician, ~475 million years ago. I am utilising extant embryophytes as analogues to investigate how these pioneering land plants were affected by factors including elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration and mycorrhizal association.  If you have any questions about my research I would be happy to answer them, you can contact me by the email address listed above.
