This web site is designed to give you an insight to the project I am undertaking as part of my PhD.

The main aim of this project is to further the understanding of lignin biosynthesis and in doing so being able to manipulate the Oxidative Pentose Phosphate Pathway (OPPP) a known bottle neck in lignin biosynthesis to increase its content in wood.

I am under the supervision of Professor Quick with funding provided by the British Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and my case partner Advanced Technologies Cambridge (ATC)
