Grey Dune

Overview:
The recent rapid change in global climate is already impacting biological systems. Plants and plant community processes are showing signs of climate induced change, with many studies reporting range migrations and altered phenology.

As the basis of all global ecosystems changes in plant species composition and distributions, and the uncoupling of community processes could have wide-ranging effects on global biodiversity. Disentangling the processes that maintain species diversity and coexistence is becoming of increasing importance in predicting the effects of future global climate change on plant communities.

My project will examine the ways in which community processes are altered by climate in Grey Dune sites situated along the Atlantic coast between Portugal and the UK.
