Academic Interests

I have many academic interests in a wide range of botanical disciplines.
Since my introduction to molecular plant pathology I have become very interested in a range of detection and physiological methods. Studies utilising novel methodology and principles are of great appeal to me, notably for physiological and ecological studies. A particular curiosity of mine is the interaction and functional relationships between pathogenic, non-pathogenic and mutualistic micro-organisms within their environment and host. The plant-to-fungus relationship is fascinating and still appears quite enigmatic.
