The main aim of this website is to provide an overview of my PhD research.

My interests are centred on antiviral response in insects and specifically how immune responses to novel pathogens compare to immune responses to common pathogens which have evolutionary history with the host. In addition to providing a better understanding of the insect immune response to virus, my research will give insight into the role of the immune system in determining the liklihood of new pathogen attacks resulting in disease emergence.

I am working under the supervision of Prof. Mike Boots and Dr. Amy Pedersen at the Univeristy of Sheffield.

My research is funded by Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and Central Science Laboratory (CSL), York is my funding case  partner.
